It’s time to buy the all-new 3rd Gen Ryzen processors, are they even available?
Ever since the unveiling of the 3rd Gen Ryzen processors at Computex 2019 speculations abound regarding its performance.
AMD showed internal benchmarks of the new Zen 2 processors, there was an average 15% increase in IPC performance. This is as compared to the previous Zen+ processors.
With higher base clocks and boost clocks, the 3rd Gen Ryzen are expected to perform well versus their Intel rivals.
Aside from core architecture changes, the new Zen 2 processors are now manufactured in 7nm FinFET process. Though we have to point out that the Ryzen 5 3400G and Ryzen 3 3200G are still manufactured in 12nm process.

But we won’t know if any of these are true. So once independent reviewers upload their benchmark results then we will see. As of this writing, many reviewers are itching to upload their review videos.
As for us, we’d really want to check it out also. Once we get an X570 test bench going.

Are you buying the Ryzen 3000?
With X570 motherboards being a bit pricey, the best course of action is to update your X470 or B450 motherboards. This way you’ll be able to use the 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen processors.
This is the only economically sounding path available if you are really intent in getting 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen processors.
The X570 motherboards are way cooler with PCIe 4.0. But if your budget isn’t enough then stick with your X470/B450 motherboards instead.
