Battlefield V recommended PC specs for Ray Tracing

Battlefield V - Gadget Boulevard

EA and Dice released their recommended PC system requirements for Battlefield V somewhat before its release last November 2018.

The game was well received by most gamers and garnered enough hype for Nvidia Ray Tracing technology.

With game updates by EA and driver updates by Nvidia, fps numbers are slowly improving. Though with DLSS turned on, some players noticed it wasn’t as they expected it to be.

So turning on both DLSS and DXR (Ray Tracing) is somewhat complete yet, so stay with just the DXR turned on only.

Now that’s dealt with, EA hasn’t updated their recommended and minimum PC specs for DXR. Even though the GeForce RTX 2060 is now available the minimum specs are still with the GeForce RTX 2070.

Does this mean that with the RTX 2060, fps numbers are not worth mentioning? Take this with a grain of salt though as we don’t have the setup to test this theory.

So let’s take a look at the official recommended PC requirements for Battlefield V with DXR enabled.

Official PC requirements to enable DXR in Battlefield V

The recommended PC system specifications to play Battlefield V with DXR enabled are the following:

  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 2700 or Intel Core i7 8700
  • Memory: 16GB RAM
  • Graphics card (NVIDIA): NVIDIA GeForce® RTX 2070
  • OS: 64-bit Windows 10 October 2018 Update (1809)
  • Available Disk Space: 50GB

So how much will a PC system cost with the above specs?

Now these are just partial costs as you still need a compatible power supply strong enough to power the whole system, maybe around 800 watts.

And you’ll still need storage (NVMe M.2 or SSD), case and fans, a capable monitor, gaming mechanical keyboard and mouse, and of course the Windows 10 OS.

So roughly you’re looking at a total cost of around $2000, more or less, depending on the prices of the other parts.

So, do you want to play with Ray Tracing enabled?

I’d love to, but can someone sponsor me the parts I need!!
