MSI recently updated their whole lineup of laptops following the release of the Nvidia RTX graphics cards for laptops. And this includes the MSI GE Raider Gaming Laptops Series.
Just in case you don’t know, there are about seven different series under MSI’s Gaming Series of laptops that they currently offer.
And not to mention three series for their business-oriented Prestige and four for their Workstation series.
For more about the MSI Prestige Series of laptops, check out our MSI P65 Creator article.
Since there are a lot of them, let’s focus first on the Gaming Series.
More specifically the mid-level or as MSI categorizes it the Enthusiastic Gamer oriented MSI GE Raider Gaming Laptops.
MSI GE RAIDER GAMING LAPTOPS

MSI GE63 Raider – Your 15.6″ Portable Gaming Laptop
So let’s start with the GE63 Series of gaming laptops. Now we know that the GE Series is the middle ground for MSI’s Gaming Laptops but did you know that this is the most versatile series of laptops that MSI have.
Versatile in the sense that it is focused on performance while giving you the best value of your moneys worth.
GeForce RTX graphics under the hood
For the 15.6 inch category, the MSI GE63 Raider gaming laptops offers you with three choices of performance.
You can choose to have either the RTX 2060, RTX 2070, or the GeForce RTX 2080 as your graphics card.
All three models of the GE63 Raider Series will have the same 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8750H processor.
Furthermore all three will have the same 16 GB of DDR4-2666Mhz memory. But it will be upgradeable to a maximum of 32GB.

More storage!
Storage on the GE63 Raider gaming laptops will be a combination of an NVMe SSD plus a 1TB mechanical drive.
The GE63 Raider will either have a 15.6″ FHD 144Hz IPS-level display or a 15.6″ FHD 120Hz 3ms Wide-view display. But we’re not sure on the Wide-view display as all I can find is the 144Hz display.
For connectivity, all model will use the MSI Killer GB LAN and Killer AC Wifi + Bluetooth 5.
RGB for effects
All models will have the same RGB front cover and with that nice MSI badge that pretty much looks like a Ferrari badge.
Aside from the RGB front cover, all keyboards will have a per-key RGB lighting.
The only difference between the models of the GE63 series will be its graphics card, AC adapter, Battery, weight, and also price. See below comparison table.
